chase820Hello, gentle readers. I realize it's been an unforgivably long time since I posted last, but the first six months of 2013 were frantically busy. Much as I love writing about John and Sherlock, I have to work a paying job, and since January it has taken up most of my time. The rest has been taken up by a long-anticipated and much-needed change of domicile. But now I'm all settled into my new place, so I was finally able to turn my attention back to Miracle Year. I don't know about you, but I've missed these characters so much!
Chapter 46 picks up just a few minutes after the end of Chapter 45. For those of you who haven't read in a while, a quick scan of 45 will remind you of where our boys are. I left them in a rather nice place, and John and Sherlock will get to talk and shag lots more in this new update. There are some complications, however: Those are inevitable. However, I like to think I've done right by both the narrative conflict and the character development.
Thanks so much to my ever-faithful beta and BFF, Mustangsally. She is always a vital part of the process, but I'm particularly grateful for her support these last few nights, when this fic took a sudden left-hand turn which left me reeling. It was a vital and necessary turn, but it's always rather a shock when my characters surprise me like that.

This is also the story of Mycroft and Sherrinford--we all know that third Holmes brother is out there somewhere--and also other canon characters, though some have changed a bit since Sir Arthur's day.
This is a story about loneliness and fate. This is a story about parents and brothers. This is a story about cocaine and Shepherd's Pie. This is a story about London, and Los Angeles, and Afghanistan. This is a story about love. Also, sex. There's quite a lot of that. This is a story with a happy ending, though at times it will make you sad.
This is the Sherlock and John story I've been wanting to tell for a very long time. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I have enjoyed writing it.
